Dear Friends, From AT&T Middletown, we can see across Raritan bay. There's nothing left of the World Trade Center, just smoke. As best I can tell, the phone network is pretty badly jammed up right now, so I won't be making too many phone calls. Oddly enough, I may have something to do with it, as I worked on a feature called GETS, which gives emergency calls priority. If you're having trouble getting through, that's part of the reason why. They just shut down the building, so I'll be away from my e-mail. I'll have to catch up when I get back. We'll keep in touch one way or the other. I'm safe, and most of my family has checked in. Scared, but unhurt. One of my choir directors saw the plane hit the building. My friend Kevin in the Air Force said only that we wouldn't be hearing from him for a while. For all intents and purposes, we are at war, declared or not. God help us all. Best wishes to all of my friends. Stay safe. David R. Wells "There seems to be something wrong | David R.
