This
page is dedicated to the members of the CRHS Class of '65
who
served in the military during a trying time in our
nation's
history. Whether these classmates served in Vietnam
or not, they
answered the call of our country and served wherever they
were assigned
to do
their part in protecting our country and defending our
rights and
freedoms. Vietnam-era veterans were not welcomed as
heroes when
they returned nor even afforded the respect and honor
usually given to
those who served in the military. We are proud of all our
class
members who served and wish to recognize them and their
sacrifices. It's about time we celebrate them!"They
served, they fought,
they died...and received neither their country's
glory nor their
country's compassion."
The following names and service records are only a partial list of those who served. Most of these were self-reported at our 50th reunion while others were gleaned from public records such as obituaries and war memorials. If you know of any corrections or additions to these records or any other classmates who served in any branch of the military, please send the information about them to crhs@frontier.com. Be sure to include the name of the classmate and the branch of service plus the dates and locations they served, if known.
One member of the class of 1965 was killed in action in Vietnam. Army SP4 Harold Phillip Grasser is honored on Panel 45W, Row 11 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial "Wall".
