Lauren Does Hair - You Can Help the Gulf Check out the link and get the word out on this. Hair clippings can be donated to help absorb oil spills. This is really cool, turning something that is normally waste and would go into the trash into something that can clean up waste! Seriously this is one to pass on to any stylists you may know.
Lauren, has a great site, it is well done, check it out! It is great to see her bringing a creative mind and artistic eye to the web.

4/19/2010 - Fixed up Plurissa the Poshbob fairy pictures. Mostly color tweaks and cleaning up little junk on the images from when they were scanned in. New links added under the posh bob section on the links page.

adorable with the short A-line bob with bangs. Her outfits are kind of retro Parisian, totally stylin.

3/31/2010 - Fixed some links on this blog to open up without being in the frame, it seemed annoying. Try it with this link, and you will see what we are talking about. Some browers we tried don't like it, they may not follow the link. Poblog To back out of it you will have to go use this link -> Poblog in parent window without frame It is a weird thing, you can keep opening up a page in a frame and it is like a hall of mirrors. 40

3/27/2010 - Some more stuff is under the Fairy Stuff section on this site. Only 34 days until the Fairy Fest in Glen Rock PA! A great Fairy Stuff logo for the links page was created using Gimp. It uses blue taken from the Plurissa fairy and a metallic gradient.
The tool is under File -> Create -> Logos -> Comicbook.
3/27/2010 - Crazy malware program on the web while surfing around. Thank God I was using Linux as this malware wanted to mess up a Windows computer, it pretends to be a Windows security alert of all things.
3/26/2010 - Noticed that poshbob.info shows up on the first page of yahoo search for the UK http://uk.yahoo.com/ when searching posh bob. It shows up on the second page of the US search http://search.yahoo.com/ ....interesting! It is way way down on Google like in the 200-300 results zone, but like the 90th for Google UK.
It's kind of interesting to see how different search engines work, never knew about the way they act much.
3/24/2010 - Second drawing of Plurissa created showing a view of her from the back and side, like diagonally. Her wings are totally different more tweaked in Gimp to look more fantasy fairy-ish. These are in the Fairy Stuff section on this site.

1/30/2010 - Photo galleries are done but the Fspot program has a bug and the galleries are not working right.
This was fixed towards the end of February by the Fspot team.

1/22/2010 - For the Creating a Posh Bob Page. Took some pictures while cutting a posh bob, albeit long-ish, what I call a partial posh bob. But it will at least show some of the steps. Put a photo gallery to go along with the written steps. A picture tells a 1000 words. This section could be done better, we will figure out how when we get a bright idea.

- Graphics for banners and a template web page made with the posh bob kitty on the bottom done. Cartoon like Posh bob girl for bottom of some pages made from preexisting Fairy art.
- The "Posh Bobs Are Awesome" banners were created in Gimp using File->Create -> Logos -> Basic I,Basic II,Blended.
- We are going to try to have little graphics wingdings, cartoons and drawings all of the pages, mostly near the bottom right above the signature line.
- Colors for banner are the background page color dialed up in saturation, font is Purisa & Purisa Oblique. We couldn't decide on one banner logo, so we have about 5 different ones.
- We are going with Purisa for the banners, if you have it installed you will see this test phrase that uses all the letters of the alphabet in it. A graphic with the same phrase on it , using Purisa also, will appear under it with a border around it. If you see both the same way,you have Purisa installed. If not the top one will default to whatever your browser sticks in for a font.

Speaking of fonts this font, Helvetica is pretty decent, it is a pretty good all around font that has been used for about 50 years. It is pretty much the best non-intrusive & non obnoxious fonts out there. You see it everywhere from the NYC Subway signs, road signs, "The Office" logo, Target logo & etc....ok,ok enough plugging fonts!
