John C. Osburn, 68 of Fairmont, formerly of Morgantown passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010 at his residence. He was born November 25, 1941 at Linn,WV , the son of the late Ross and Donna Conner Osburn.

John was employeed as a heavy equipment operator for King Knob Coal Co. and a U S Coast Guard veteran. John attended various VFW’s and as a hobby, he was a Ham radio operator with the call sign of KA8VZZ. He also was an avid mountaineer fan, enjoying both men and women’s sports.

He is survived by his wife Sue Luzader Osburn, 2 sons Tom and Bill Osburn both of Morgantown, 4 step children Vickie Nicholson and husband Randy of Manchester,Tn., Bob Juristy and wife Angelia of Morgantown, Helen Hays and husband Carl of Fairmont, and Lisa Childs and husband Charlie of Richmond,Va. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by 2 brothers Bernard and Wayne Osburn.

Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 3-5 and 7-9pm and again on Monday from 10am until the time of services at 11am with Rev. Willard Rowan officiating. Burial will follow in the Nicholson Chapel Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post 9916 and WVANG, Camp Dawson.
