My Grandparents came for a visit last Friday, and stayed until this morning.
It was nice having family around! We had a great time together seeing some of the sights in Seattle. Brian and
I are still very much tourists, and we got lost a few times! We went to Pike's Market and the Ballard Locks
(ship canal that connects Lake Washington to the Puget Sound) on Saturday. We also went to Poulsbo, a
little Norweigen town, and took a ferry into Seattle on Monday. The ferry ride was awesome - it gives you a fantastic
view of the entire city. Unfortunately, it rained for the first time in two weeks when we were on the ferry, but
it was still beautiful. We were glad to have some guests and show off our new home, and are looking forward to more
visitors in the future. My friend Amy Hite is coming to visit in September (she will be up here on business and is staying
over the weekend to see us), and hopefully, Brian's Mom and Grandma will be coming sometime in October.
Our house has really come together and we love it - it has truly become our home.
We bought a new bedroom set in a natural cherry wood for the Master Bedroom and painted the walls. They are now
three shades of blue that match the flowers in our comforter. I know this sounds strange but it looks great! We
put up a chair rail and painted the section below the chair rail a purple-ish blue, and the section above the chair rail a
light powder blue. The chair rail/molding itself is a darker blue. Our bedroom is now my favorite room
in the whole house!
We also have purchased our tickets to come home for Christmas! We will arrive in California on
December 21st and leave to go home to Washington on December 30th. We will have 9 whole days with all our friends and
family! We are very excited and looking forward to the trip. Boeing has a holiday shutdown for its employees,
so it works out nicely.
