Sitting at a table surrounded by friends, he was
alone. In the midst of the cacophony of celebration, he was silent. He watched as the bride and groom took their places on
the dance floor for the first dance. Lorne sang as Fred and Knox danced.
After the first dance other couples took
to the floor. He didn't dance, of course. He watched them as they danced. Then he walked over to Lorne and whispered
in his ear. Lorne nodded and began to sing "The Wind Beneath My Wings". He watched Buffy melt into Spike's arms, rose, and
silently left.
