Judge McWhorter was born in Lewis county April 30, 1838, and was educated in Ohio school s from age of 5-13. Later settled in Roane county, and then to Lewisburg, Greenbrier county . He was twice married. Children of first marriage, A. G. and L. E. McWhorter of Charleston ; A. W. McWhorter of Norfolk; William B. McWhorter of Hinton; Joseph C. McWhorter of St. Loui s; Mrs. Margaret E. Lewis of Charleston, and Mrs. Decia Carr of Lewisburg, with whom he lived . Surviving children of second marriage, Mrs. B. B. Holt of Lewisburg and Capt.
