FireSong Flutes

I call them "FireSong Flutes" because we use them so much

around the camp fire at 4H events and when camping privately

NA style Flutes and how I make them

I am NOT Native American Indian but I do love so much about that way of life.

I like making the flutes because they are so beautiful to hear, so soothing.

My flutes are for 'therapy'; Relaxation and Healing!!

Center line marking gauge and marked blank.




I chisel away most of the area around the inside of the TSH, easier before halves are glued up.




Then I outline flue lightly and chisel bare hint of flue, very shallow.




I have already drilled 1/8" holes at both left and right edges of flue on this rectangular flue model...

Ready to use my 1/8" carbide "ZIP" bit (preferably in a drill press with a cross-slide vise) from my "Roto-ZIP" tool.




TSH view from outside and from inside, just a little cleanup with files and sandpaper now.
