Native American style Flutes

FireSong Flutes

I call them "FireSong Flutes" because we play so much music

around the camp fire at 4H events and when camping privately.

NA style Flutes and how I make them

I am NOT Native American Indian but I do love so much about that way of life.

I like making the flutes because they are so beautiful to hear, so soothing.

My flutes are for 'therapy'; Relaxation and Healing!!

Some of the special purpose-built and hand tools I use: Spring Steel Flue Scraper, Syringe for inside finishing, Center Marking Gauge,
"Vee" block to hold flute while working and drilling.
Oak #2 Morse taper lathe adapter to drive flute while in lathe, this is the 3/4" bore size.
I use varnish or shellac for inside bore, and a carver's mallet for flue work.

1/8" carbide 'ZIP' bit I use in drill press to cut rectangular TSH
This is made to cut tile, it really sings through the hardedst of wood easily.
