(Many horses in the Finals were imported, including one who placed 6th in the 5 Year Old Dressage Horse World Championships last year. It is significant for American breeders that Wendelstern was bred, born, and trained in North Carolina and that both his parents and his granddam are in North Carolina, and his dam's sire is in Virginia.)
