Carrie
R. ‘Nanny’ Tressler, 97 of Morgantown passed away Saturday January 17, 2009 at the Monongalia General Hospital. Carrie was born November 11, 1911 a daughter of the late Daniel Wilfong and William and Julia Flanagan.
Carrie
retired as a cook, where she worked for J&S Steel and the Union Barge Line of Pittsburgh. She enjoyed
cooking and traveling.
Carrie
is survived by one daughter Kathleen Sperandio whom she made her home with; grandchildren Richard L. Sperandio, Mary Kay Solomon
and husband Steven, and Patty Kay Sperandio; great grandchildren, Jennifer Caradine and husband Matthew, Tina Guschel and
husband Duffy and Angela Sutton and husband Adam. Also surviving are six great great grandchildren; several
nieces and nephews and many beloved friends and neighbors.
In
addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter Betty Ferruso; son-in-law Edward L. Sperandio; sisters,
Sana Wolford and Wilma Tressler; brother Ola Wilfong; longtime companion Michael Buono and beloved canine companion Tiny.
Friends
will be received Monday January 19,
2009 from 5-8pm at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home and again on Tuesday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Rev. Elliott (Sandy) Bigelow officiating. Burial will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
