Marian Louise Swanger, 80, of Dawson Road, Morgantown passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Ruby Memorial. She was born December 25, 1928 at Monongah, WV, the daughter of the late William Harold and Vivian Tichner Carpenter.

 

She was a member of the Riverside Apostolic Church and a homemaker.

 

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Kenneth R. Swanger Sr., Daughter Donna Rae Hovatter of Morgantown, a son Kenneth R. Swanger Jr. of Morgantown; two sisters Phyllis Carpenter and Dana Sue Larson both of Morgantown; six grandchildren Phillip Davis, Renee Davis, Loria Morris, Amy Mayle, Ben Hovatter and Donna Hovatter; eight great grandchildren, Evan, Abby, Adam Davis, Emily, Lisa Morris, Brian, Garrett, Sara Mayle, and one great-great grandchild: Cameron LaRue.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Russell, and Roger Carpenter, and one grandchild, Loria Davis,

 

Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Inc. on Tuesday September 8^th 2009 from 3-5, 7-9pm, and again on Wednesday, September 9th from 10am until the time of services at 11am with Rev. David Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
