Beer Bar-B-Que Sauce

This Bar-B-Que sauce begins with a bottle of your favorite beer. Do yourself a favor and don't make this with "Millcorwieser". Use a good micro brew instead. A dry amber ale is better than a pale beer and a British Stout would give the sauce good hearty flavor.

Variations:

  • For a light sauce use a pale beer.
  • For a hearty sauce use a dark beer
  • Substitute Brown sugar for Molasses to let the flavor of the beer come through.

  Beer Bar-B-Que Sauce

Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup Beer
  • 1 Cup chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground pepper
Directions:
  1. Combine all ingredients in sauce pan.
  2. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, 8-10 minutes until slightly thickened.
