Here is a quick way to cook up a tasty chicken dinner.
While the chicken is cooking you make up some potatoes
and a vegetable.
When the chicken is done, use the pan drippings make a great gravy.
Then serve it with potatoes and vegetable to round out a complete dinner.
Variations:
For variety, try one or more of the following:
- The potatoes can be mashed, baked, fried, etc.
- If you have the time, you can also serve biscuits or brown and serve rolls.
- Try this with Pasta instead of potatoes.
- Try this with Rice instead of potatoes.

Chicken Onion Skillet |
Ingredients:
- 2 Boneless, skinless chicken breast halves.
- 2 Tablespoons butter.
- 1 Package dehydrated (powdered) onion soup mix.
- 1½ Cups water.
- 1 Tablespoon flour.
Directions:
- In a medium skillet over a medium high heat, brown the chicken in butter for 5 minutes.
Turn and brown the other side.
- Add the water and onion soup mix to the skillet. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat. Cover and cook for 30 minutes.
- Remove the chicken to a serving platter.
- Make pan gravy by sprinkling 1 Tablespoon of flour over the surface of the liquid in the pan.
- Use a whisk to briskly stir in the flour. Add water if the mix is too thick.
- Simmer uncovered until the correct consistency is achieved. Serve over rice or potatoes.
