Orzo Casserole

Here's one I just recently picked up. Now you have to understand that there are several ways to put this together and lots of substitutions. I also measure ingredients with a well calibrated eye. So I'll do my best to get this down to something reproducible. Enjoy

Variations:
For more variety, try one or more of the following:

  • Try Knorr brand Creamy Pesto or Four Cheese sauce mix.
  • You can use small shells or other small pasta instead of Orzo.

  Orzo Casserole

Ingredients:
  • 16 oz Orzo Pasta (cooked).
  • 1 jar of prepared Alfredo sauce.*
  • 1 pkg frozen mixed vegetables (thawed).
  • 1 and ½ cups shredded Mozzarella cheese (divided).
  • 3/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs.
  • ¼ Cup parmesan cheese.
Directions:
  1. Mix the cooked pasta, vegetables, 1 cup of the shredded cheese, and the sauce in a 3 quart casserole dish.
  2. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top, then sprinkle the bread crumbs and parmesan cheese over that.
  3. Cook at 350 for 45 minutes.
  4. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.

*Actually I prefer to use the Knorr brand dry packaged sauces. When I use these I use two packages. And prepare the sauce according to the package directions.
