Gordon's Favorite Recipes: Dessert

Toll House Pie

I have a few good memories of the two years that I lived in Rolla, MO. One of them is of the pie shop on King's Highway where they hand made 35 varieties of pie. It was there that I was introduced to Toll House pie. I have been looking for a recipe ever since then. I found this one published in McCalls. It's best when served warm with real whipped cream or a la mode.

Variations:
For variety, try one or more of the following:

  • Take a cue from the Brownie Bottom Pudding pie and top this pie with a pudding pie filling.
  • Better yet, top it with the filling for No Bake Cheese cake. Can you say "Yummy Yummy"?
