(1882-1945)

Born in Yorkshire, England on November 24, 1882, 1882. He attended Oxford, where he studied Icelandic and Norse myths and legends.  Eddison was as an english civil servant, working for the Board of Trade. He received the Order of Saint Michael and Saint George in 1924 and the Order of Bath in 1929 for his public service.  He wrote five novels, one translation (Egil's Saga), and edited the work of a friend, Phillip Sidney Nairn.  He died of a heart attack on August 18, 1945. He was survived by his brother Colin Rucker Eddison, a wife, and a daughter, Jean Gudrun Rucker Latham.
