The Vertical 7 Bike Rack:

Description:

Vertical 7 Bike Rack_________

This bike rack is unlike any you have likely seen before in that it accommodates up to seven conventional bicycles in a 2-inch Class III Receiver Hitch.  Because the combined weight of the rack and bikes can approach 320 pounds, nothing less than a Class III hitch must be used (i.e. tongue weight of 500 lbs.).

Assembled Dimensions: 5 feet tall    71 inches across    18.5 inches deep    Approx. 65 pounds

Happy Customers:

"We have used it twice now and have had no problems related to the design or structure of the rack.  We are thrilled...  Thanks again for taking the time to design something that I think will be a blessing to many larger families."   Brad B. - Ft. Wright, KY

"...it rode real nice. The bikes didn't sway a lot and it felt secure. We also got a lot of looks while traveling.  People would speed up or slow down to check out the carrier."  Dennis M. - Goshen, IN

Included With Rack:

Hitch-Tite™ (patented)  To insure strength and safety of the bike rack, included is this new heavy duty receiver hitch stabilizer clamp and no wobble device which works by holding the bike rack (or any receiver hitch accessory) very tight in the receiver tube. ----  TRAILER HITCH TALK ----

·    Always consult your vehicle owner's manual for information about hitches and towing for your particular vehicle. Hitch manufacturers rate each hitch for each specific vehicle and take into account both the strength of the hitch structure and the strength and capability of your particular vehicle. Weight ratings of hitches are normally stamped or decaled on the hitch itself, but not always. Do not confuse the ratings stamped on towing accessories such as hitch balls or ball mounts with the weight rating of your hitch! If you are unsure about the strength of your trailer hitch, always consult with a professional trailer hitch installer.

·    All brands of bike racks require a sturdy hitch. If you have not yet purchased a hitch, a Class III or stronger receiver style trailer hitch is recommended because it will generally give you more satisfaction and offers more accessory options.

·    Overloading your trailer hitch is dangerous and can lead to a serious accident as well as damage to your vehicle and hitch. Users of the Vertical Seven bike rack shall be solely responsible for checking and verifying the strength of their trailer hitch before using the racks. This includes deciding the maximum safe load for your particular trailer hitch and any requirement for anti-wobble hitch devices to help stabilize the load.  Too much flexing will cause load instability and possibly damage your trailer hitch. Adding an anti-wobble device (Hitch-Tite) will dramatically improve stability on a loaded hitch rack.  When towing anything, always familiarize yourself with any change in the vehicle's driving characteristics.

·    Using trailer hitch racks on the back of camper/travel trailers or 5th wheels is not recommended due to their rough ride characteristics. On camper/travel trailers there is also the possibility of reducing tongue weight to a dangerous level which could cause trailer sway, tow vehicle control problems and/or trailer de-coupling from the hitch ball.  Users of the Vertical Seven Bike Rack in this context assume complete responsibility.

·    The Vertical Seven bike rack is not for rough "off road" use, or for use on the back of camper trailers or 5th wheels.

·    The Vertical Seven Bike Rack is for use on 2" Class III (max. 500lb. Tongue Weight) or stronger receiver style hitches only.  Using this rack with a full load on your Class Il receiver could overload the hitch, cause damage and create an unsafe situation.  Always refer to the auto manufacturer's limitations for particular hitch classes

·    Always place safety first and do not use hitch racks unless you have verified the sturdiness of your trailer hitch.
