Homework Alert Homework Alert — The library is pleased to place materials on particular topics on reserve. The materials will then be held at the Circulation Desk for everyone to use, but not to check out. By doing this, all students will have a chance to use limited materials. Teachers may phone the library to give the topic, grade level, date the assignment is due, and how the materials are to be used and/or a brief description of the assignment.
Tours Librarians are available to give library tours to groups. Tours can be customized for the audience’s age level or interest and can include library lessons or a storytime segment. Please call the library circulation desk to make arrangements in advance.
Ellison Cutting Machine and Dies The library owns an Ellison die cutting machine and several dies (including a 7-inch alphabet which matches the school’s 3-inch set). There is a brochure listing all the library dies in the Elementary School Work room. We have arranged a ’borrowing agreement’ between the school and the library. If you would like to use any of the library’s dies, we would be happy to deliver them to the school for a 24 hour check-out. The library can arrange delivery and pick-up, if needed. You may also use dies at the library. If you have questions or requests, please call the library circulation desk for details, or contact the school librarian.
Teacher Check-out Any teacher who has a library card from the Alliance Library System (This includes many Illinois counties, McLean Country, and most of our neighboring libraries) may check-out materials from the Heyworth Library. Keep in mind that if materials are distributed to students, the library cardholder (you) will be responsible for any fines/replacement fees.
