VEHICLE REGISTRATION TIPS
1. IF YOUR TITLE IS HELD BY YOUR LIENHOLDER
A. Current registration (if expired, not to exceed 6 months)
If expired over 6 months, must have fax or e-mail a copy (.pdf format) of front and back of title from the lien holder.
B. Lien holder name, complete mailing address and date of lien.
C. All owners must be present and have a valid NC Drivers License or NC ID.
If exempt from ID requirements an out of state valid Drivers license and
the MVR-614 completed by owner(s) will be needed. Ref: NC General Statute 20-52a.
If using a POA, a copy of owner's DL (Black & White Only GS 20-30.6) is required. This can also be
emailed (.pdf format) to our office.
D. NC insurance policy number and company name.
E. Mileage if 10 years or newer.

A. Title
B. All dealer documents including Bill Of Sale, a temporary registration is not acceptable
C. Damage disclosure document.

B. NC tax-exempt number
C. POA to sign for lessor
D. All items C thru E from above (note MVR 615 is completed by lessee)
5. NON-TITLES VEHICLES
A. Notarized bill of sale
B. Prior owner's current registration
C. Prior owners proof of purchase
D. All items C thru E (item E may be waived depending on year of car)
