How to Clear a TAX STOP on a Vehicle Registration
1. Present the MAV-2 tax receipt to the DMV Clerk. Note: the
DMV keeps the Mav-2, so you may want to make a copy if
needed.
2. Some Tax offices can clear the stop. You will need to call
the tax office and request the stop be removed for a given
plate number.
3. If paying your tax online it may take 24hrs before
the block will be removed. You may still have to call the
tax office the have the block removed in some cases.
