Elisha was the son of Rev. James Alexander Chambers and his wife Nancy Windsor Chambers. He married Nancy Moore in 1804. They were the parents of sons Asa, Elijah, John, Elisha,Jesse, Abjah and James Monroe (who is buried next to them). Their daughters were Harriet Matilda, Alice Johnson (Alley) and Mary Polly. Elisha and Nancy were early members of Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church and contributed funds to help build the church that is still standing today.

"The Will of Elisha Chambers:

In the name of God, Amen.

I, Elisha Chambers of the State of Arkansas and County of Benton, being weak in body but of sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament revoking all others.

First --- I do will and bequeath to my daughter, Polly Estes, ten dollars in cash.

Second --- I do also will and bequeath to my son, Asa Chambers, ten dollars in cash.

Third --- I do also will and bequeath to my son, Elijah Chambers, ten dollars in cash.

Fourth --- I do also will and bequeath to my daughter, Harriett Matilda Vestall, ten dollars in cash.

Fifth --- I do also will and bequeath to my son, Jesse M. Chambers, ____ dollars in cash.

Sixth --- I do also will and bequeath to my son, John Johnson Chambers, ten dollars in cash; also one still, together will all apprutenances thereunto belonging.

Seventh --- I do also will and bequeath to my daughter, Abby Johnston Vestall, ten dollars in cash.

Eighth --- I do also will and bequeath to my two sons, John Johnson Chambers and James Monrow Chambers, all the household and kitchen furniture together with all and every utensil thereunto belonging; and also all the farming utensils and tools of all sorts; and also the stock of all and every description; and also one two-horse wagon together with appurtenances thereunto belonging.

Tenth --- (sic - 9th skipped) And I nominate, constitute and appoint my trustee John Johnson Chambers of this my last will and testament.

Eleventh --- And I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my James Monrow Chambers my guardian to support and take care of me during my natural life.

In testimony whereof I have caused my seal to be maid (sic) and caused my name to be thereunto affixed this twenty-ninth day of Ocboter 1856.

The above written instrument was subscribed by the said Elisha Chambers in our preasants (sic) and acknowledged by him to each of us and he at the same time published and declared the above instrument and we at the testators recrest and in his preasants (sic) have signed our names as witness hereunto and written opposite our names our respective pieces of residence.
