Hi John
It's not necessary to track Mike down, I just thought it interesting that Jan married a Vermeer that might have been a relative. Another interesting fact, Jan's family, Pete & Liz Hiemstra lived in Delavan Wisconsin when your dad was there.
As far as sharing information I just usually type it out. I'm not nearly as technical as you. I will send a little at a time until you've had enough 😌

   Merry Christmas late, Phyllis,

I will respond to both of yesterday's emails here.

My Dad's last church was in Iowa. But it was Kanawha, IA not Pella. I must have mistyped that as Pella. I do have a second cousin, Michael Len Vermeer. I do not have any contact with him and I always thought he was in Colorado. His family did have Iowa roots somehow and he certainly might be the Mike Vermeer you reference. Like me, Michael Len Vermeer is 60 years old. I will try to contact a cousin on that side who should know his whereabouts.

The 16000 descendants that you refer to must be my Ancestry tree. Right? I did make much of the data for living people private and I am sure that Ancestry helped me out. I'd love to have as many details as you are willing to share. I am particularly interested in your direct line because a "paper trail" and a "DNA link" really double validates our common Hoekstra connection.

Do you have a favorite method for sharing data?

We did a double Christmas. We had most of the fam here last weekend and then we spend Christmas eve and day in Vancouver, Canada with our daughter and son-in-law. So we've had a week long celebration - it was lots of fun and tiring.

I do have one question; some of your listings in the scans have dates and some of them don't. Are you interested in the missing dates or do you have  them listed somewhere else. I know you said you were interested in going as fare back as you could and be as accurate as possible but are you interested in filling in more current generations. You already have 16000 entries but I might be able to help you with some of the ones that come up as private if you're interested.

My dad's cousin, Kay Schlam, has this Bible and about 20 years ago provided a typed transcription. The attached document has my comments and interpretation of this transcription. Some day I hope to be able to see this old Bible.

You are a lot more organized than I am, but I will check what I have against yours and see if there are any differences. I'm sure if there are,I will be the one changing my information :).
>>             One thing, I was not aware of his first wife van der Meulen so thank  you for that. Your list does not mention his second wife Minke Jacobs Sikma. I would assume you have her and her 10 children since your tree is so large, but if you don't I can fill you in, give me a little bit of time to get back to you. By the way, my husband has relatives in Lynden, the Hiemstra's, this world just keeps getting smaller and smaller.
