I was doing a bit of research on the Ancestry and DNA links of my wife and of my mother-in-law. While searching Ancestry DNA Barry Gibbons came up as a DNA link to my mother-in-law, Audrey (Knowlton) Donnel.
Barry and Audrey both may descend from James John (born 1870 in Truro, Cornwall, England). I have information about the family of James John. But I am unable to figure out of Audrey and my wife Becky, descend from David Lewis John or from Lewis David John.

I know very little in deed about my JOHN line (just 3 names), other than that my 3x great grandmother was born Louisa Virginia JOHN in 1823, and her father was James JOHN, innkeeper in St. Clements, Truro (via baptism record). James JOHN also had a daughter called Roxana. You are in fact the first person asking about my/my father's Truro ancestors! I know a bit more about the Pearce family, into which Virginia married. According to notes I added to James JOHN, he may also have had a daughter called Jane...

Thanks for the reply. Yes I also see Lewis David and David Lewis as brothers and I see that death in 1823 in the records. My wife's line descends from a Jane JOHN (~1835-1875) who would be granddaughter of your James JOHN and Elizabeth ANEAR. Our Jane would be niece of the Jane JOHN you mention who married Barratt.
This Ancestry DNA link supports this idea that Jane is granddaughter of James, but it is not telling me *which* son of James JOHN and Elizabeth ANEAR is her father.
I need to dig deeper!

Mrs. Bowens's Long Life is Ended
Mrs. Hannah C. Bowen, in the 94th year, widow of Mr. Benjamin S. Bowen and the mother of Mr. B. F. Bowen of Wellsboro, and ex Register and Recorder George C., Bowen, died of peritonitis on Thursday in Osceola at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sarah M. Heggie
Mrs. Bowen was a daughter of one of the earliest settlers in Tioga county and she had many interesting memories of pioneer life in the Cowanesque Valley. Her father was Jabez Whitaker, a citizen of Rhode Island, which State he left to locate in this county. Her brother, John C. Whitaker, was one of the leading physicians of Tioga county.
Mrs. Bowen survived her husband by 14 years. Their long married life was spent on his paternal homestead in Deerfield. Ten children were born to them, of whom three survive their mother, in addition to the three whose names appear in the forgoing. The remaining three are; Mrs. John Bowen, of Bismarck, North Dakota; Mr. Emmer H. Bowen, of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Mr. William H. Bowen, of Livingston, Montana.
Mrs. Bowen's funeral was held at 2 p.m. on Monday from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Heggie, with whom she had lived the past 13 years, nearly ever since her husband's death. Rev. N. L. Reynolds, of Wellsboro, a friend of Mrs. Bowen and her family for more than 50 years officiated, assisted by Rev. W. H. Henderson, the Methodist pastor in Osceola. Four sons of the deceased -- Mesers. George C. Bowen, B. F. Bowen, Emmer H. Bowen and William H. Bowen -- acted as pallbearers.
