Carol Sue Donnel

On May 16, Carol Sue Donnel left the same way she lived, full of courage, promise and joy. She leaves a powerful legacy of love and hope.

Born in Kennewick, Wash., in 1954 to Lloyd and Jeane Baldwin (former mayor of Duvall), Carol spent much of her life in Duvall. Carol committed herself to Jesus Christ as a teenager and continued to follow Him the rest of her life.

She married Harley Donnel in the winter of 1979, and for more than a quarter of a century she served as a homemaker, home-school teacher, 4-H activist, mother, grandmother, wife and friend. Her passion for the Lord was apparent in the way that she taught, encouraged and cared for others.

Carol enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.

Carol is survived by her loving husband Harley; children, Christina (Josh), Hilary, Zack, Austin and France; grandchildren, Tassin and Riley; and three brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

During her four-and-a-half year battle with breast cancer, she continued to lean on the Lord for strength and treasured the many prayers offered on her behalf.

In celebration, a memorial will be held June 3 at 2 p.m. in the Cedar Park Assembly of God high school gym, 16300-112th Ave NE Bothell.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Carol’s name to Crosswater Community Church.
