I would like to update you on our plans for the 29th Annual Women's Senior/Masters Racquetball Championships along with other racquetball news of interest.
The 2018 WomenÕs Senior/Masters Racquetball Championships is returning to Tucson! The tournament will be the weekend of January 12-14, 2018 at the Tucson Racquet and Fitness Club with Fun Doubles January 11. Cindy Tilbury and Linda Moore will be our tournament directors and are working hard to make this a special tournament experience. This is the club that hosted our tournament in 2016 and has excellent facilities, with many amenities to enjoy when you are not playing. The Host Hotel & Banquet Site will be the Doubletree Reid Park about 6 miles from the club. (Reserve by Dec 17, 2017 at 520-881-4200, with code WSMRA) A free shuttle will be provided to the club. ¥ Terry Rogers and Jack Hughes received USAR's Joe Sobek Outstanding Contribution Award at the HOF and Awards Banquet in Tempe.
¥ Cindy Tilbury won the Peggy Steding Award as Outstanding Female Age Group Player.
¥ Joanne Pomodoro and Cindy Tilbury officially joined the USAR Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting in Tempe at National Singles.
¥ Laurel Davis cycled off of the USAR Board after six years, much of that time as Treasurer.
¥ Cheryl Kirk continues on the USAR Board as Secretary.
All of these folks contribute so much time and energy to supporting and promoting our sport, and we owe them a big CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU!
