Sites set for the 2013 and 2014 Women’s Senior/Masters Racquetball National Championships

The next two scheduled tournaments return to familiar territory. In 2013 the Women’s Senior/Masters National Championships will be held at the Maverick Athletic Club in Arlington, TX. For our 24th Annual tournament, we will be returning to “The Mav” which also hosted out tournament in 2006. In 2014, our 25^th Annual tournament, we return to the Spectrum Athletic Club in Canoga Park, CA, which also hosted 3 other times, in 1998, 2001 and 2009.

Successful 23^rd Annual Women’s Senior/Masters Racquetball National Championship tournament recently held in Florida

The 23rd annual tournament was held in Sarasota, FL January 13-15, 2012. 94 players from all parts of the USA attended this tournament, the 4^th time we have been in the Sunshine State. Click here to read more about this great tournament.

Wilson will continue as the WSMRA National Sponsor for the 2013 and 2014 tournaments.

The Women's Senior/Masters Racquetball Association has signed a new two-year contract with Wilson Racquet Sports to provide balls, promotional materials and merchandise for fund-raising for the annual Women’s Senior/Masters National Racquetball Championships in 2013 and 2014.  The WSMRA is proud to be associated with the Wilson brand and looks forward to continuing this exciting partnership with Wilson. We want to thank Chris Evon and Terri Graham for making this possible.

WSMRA Executive Board has two new Members

Vickey Utter and Lynne Weisbart have resigned from the WSMRA Board. At the Annual Meeting Jean Halahan was elected to replace Vickey, and subsequently Beth Sacco was appointed to replace Lynne. In addition, Cindy Tilbury has been appointed to the first WSMRA Advisory Committee.

Linda Moore wins 2011 Peggy Steding Award

At the 2011 National Singles tournament, WSMRA member Linda Moore (NE) was recognized with the Peggy Steding Female Age Group Award. WSMRA members have won this award 19 of the last 20 years dating back to 1992 and the inception of the award and the WSMRA.

WSMRA Members Serving the Racquetball Community

Three WSMRA members are currently serving on the USAR Board: Cheryl Kirk is the current president, the first woman to hold that position. Laurel Davis and Jan Stelma are at-large members. Several WSMRA members serve on the USAR “Women’s Committee” including Terry Rogers (Chair), Cheryl Kirk, Merijean Kelley, Lorraine Galloway, and Janice Vosika.

Three of our members Cindy Tilbury, Carmen Alatorre-Martin and Melanie Newsome serve on the NMRA Board.
