Honorable Mention All Big 12. 2004 Redshirted. ANALYSIS Talib has excellent size with long arms and outstanding ball skills. He has proven to be a dangerous returner once the ball is in his hands. While Talib may not have fabulous timed speed (4.47 forty at the combine) he is flawless in transition and possesses terrific instincts in coverage. He had a great Orange Bowl performance vs. Virginia Tech, registering 5 tackles and returning a 1st quarter interception 60 yards for a TD. He displays exceptional body control, effectively using his angular frame to shield off the receiver from the ball. Talib shows good reactions and possesses a terrific closing burst on the ball. He improved his tackling technique as a junior but still makes too many arm tackles and needs to become more aggressive. He is not stout against the run and must be more physical in this aspect of the game. In conclusion, Talib is a ball-hawking corner with the capability of producing game changing plays. His size, explosive burst, and extraordinary return skills will make him a standout for years to come.
