Analysis

Connor is a big, strong, active, aggressive and instinctive linebacker. He displays the ability to take on and shed blockers, and he shows good reactions, awareness and game speed. He is versatile enough to play both inside and outside linebacker but is best suited for middle or inside linebacker at the pro level. He is not a dominant pass rusher at this point but can get the job done when called upon. In addition, he possesses the ability to effectively drop into pass coverage. Connor has overcome some character concerns stemming from prank phone calls earlier in his career and displayed leadership qualities as a senior. He played RB and LB in addition to basketball and track at Strath Haven HS in suburban Philadelphia. Connor amassed 4,556 career rushing yards and scored 77 touchdowns en route to being one of the most highly prized prep recruits in the nation. He was named 1st Team All-State 3 times in leading his team to the PA class AAA State Title game 3 consecutive years. Connor capped off a stellar week of practice at the Senior Bowl with 9 tackles and an interception in the game, solidifying his status as the top LB in the draft. He is comparable to former teammate Paul Posluszny, except he displays more athleticism and better speed. Connor has the appearance of a long-time, consistent starter that will bring some position flexibility with him to the NFL.
