Analysis

Doggett is too undersized to remain at OLB; he has good size and long arms and is best suited to play SS at the next level. He plays faster than timed speed would indicate, shows good pursuit angles, and covers a lot of ground. He is Team Co-Captain and has two daughters. Doggett struggles to disengage from blockers near the line, which is another reason for the move to SS. He has good vision to locate and react to the ball and hits like a linebacker when he arrives. Doggett appeared comfortable in pass coverage as a LB, but with a move to SS he must make deeper drops and adjust to covering receivers rather than TEs. In conclusion, while his position conversion will take some time, Doggett has the ability to develop into a future starter. In the meantime, he has the size, speed, and tackling skills to be a standout on special teams.
