ANALYSIS

Langford has outstanding size and a frame capable of holding another 20+ pounds. He lacks great speed and is not going to run down many skill players from the backside, but he plays with tremendous power and is an absolute force against the run. He has quick hands, is adept at shedding blocks, and easily wraps up ball carriers. Langford is as strong as an ox, a bull-rusher who is relentless in his pursuit of the quarterback. Although he may not produce a high volume of sacks, he gets good pressure and can collapse the pocket. He plays with a mean streak and is not intimidated by top competition. In conclusion, Langford answered many of his critics by having solid weeks of practice at both the Shrine and Senior Bowls, and undoubtedly improved his draft stock by showing he can play with the big boys. His size and strength will make him attractive to teams that employ a 3-4 base defense. In this scheme, he should become a productive starter.
