Stock records were managed very poorly in the past.

A huge effort by me while I was yeoman transferred the paper records to an excel environment and located about 50 of 70 lost shareholders.

The same folks who screwed up the paper records  now have the records back.

I hate to loose all my good work.

Absent a good audit trail in the official minutes there is no way to ever straighten out errors.  The official minutes are no longer available.
