The Rotary Club of Charles Town honors the many organizations of our community for their service to others. In the words of current Rotary International President Shekhar Mehta, it is in caring and serving others that we not only change other people's lives, but we also change our own.

The Rotary Club of Charles Town showered gifts on several organizations just in time for the holidays. The Club’s Christmas for Charities fundraiser, although not an in-person event again this year due to the continued concern over the Covid-19 pandemic, raised significant funds to allow the club to continue their generous giving.

This year, the Rotarians were able to bestow $45,000 to a host of Eastern Panhandle agencies which included two significant gifts to Jefferson County Community Ministries and Meals on Wheels of Jefferson County. Both of those organizations received a check for $7,500, which allows them to assist many individuals within the county.

The Rotary Club of Charles Town Christmas for Charities initiative began in 2009. Now in its 13th year, the annual fundraiser has distributed over $400,000 in the tri-county community.

The Rotary Club of Charles Town is one of 32,000 affiliates of Rotary International, the worlds’ first service club. Members of Rotary clubs — known as Rotarians — provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
