Our Freckled Goldfish club has been discontinued; also the Chatter-Box in my books. The Chatter-Box has always been an added expense to my publishers, and they felt they could not afford to continue it.
The Chatter-Box having been discontinued, I will be unable to use any more poems or other contributions. If you have submitted a poem, you will understand that no matter how good it is, or how much I enjoy it, I will be unable to use it.
Nor will I be able to furnish any more Goldfish cards, buttons or organization booklets.
But while we cannot continue the club and Chatter-Box, due to financial reasons, we can still be pals. I am going to write more books for you, and any time you want to know the new titles, in preparation, write to me.
The newest title right now is THE MONKEY'S PAW, the first of the new thrilling Poppy Ott detective stories. This will be followed by THE HIDDEN DWARF--another thriller! By the time you get this letter, JERRY TODD'S POODLE PARLOR will be on sale, too.
Many boys and girls, having read JERRY TODD'S UP-THE-LADDER CLUB, and wanting to organize a similar club of their own (the complete initiation is given in the book), have written to me for permission. If YOU have written to me for such permission, the official number of your club will be written below. You can make up your own secret signs and passwords.
Inclosed is a list of my available books. In ordering autographed copies, you can send me a personal check (get it from mother or dad), a post-office money order, or you can wrap the money will and inclose it with your order. If you prefer, you can hve the books sent C.O.D--and pay the postman for them.
