Tom Muzila to Lead Senior Practices in
Seattle

The Seattle-area dojos invite all SKA members to participate in
three practices to be led by Godan Tom Muzila, one of the top seniors in SKA,
on May 30 and 31.
Tom Muzila began training in the mid-1960s in
Long Beach, California, and
was manager and head instructor of the
Long Beach dojo for
many years. He is well known for developing practices that teach us
we have a much greater capacity than we might think—including 10,000 oizuki,
24-hour continuous practice, 10,000 front kick, 40-day special training, and
1,000 heian kata practice. A former member of
Special Forces during the
Vietnam era, Tom is now a
movie actor and trainer of movie actors and directors. He has developed
numerous
karate and self-defense videos, all based in Shotokan.
Three practices focusing on kata, kumite, and self defense are planned — two
on Saturday, May 30, and one
on Sunday, May 31. The event will take place at
Meadowbrook Community
Center in northeast Seattle.
Seattle dojo members can assist with housing for participants from
out of town.
