Hi!
My name is Koda!

I'm a 3 year old, Husky-Mix. I was rescued from the East Valley Shelter last May. After being in and out of the shelter several times, I was going to be destroyed the very next day.

Luckily I was adopted! I had to go to Obedience School because I was a little mischievious and liked to chew up things in my new mommy's home. Most of the time I'm quiet and love to go for walks and runs.

I also love to sleep... as much as I can! But on this special morning, I would not being sleeping in.

Dawn in Huntington Beach.
There are lots of people in running gear.
Yippee! I'm going for a run!

My mommy gets ready to run.
I watch the other runners as I wait.

This must be a special run. I have my very own (home-made) racing number: D3302.
I'm in the Dog Division.

I put on my game face.

Here we are - I'm ready to go!

Some last minute adjustments...

Hmmm... do we have time for a one last pit-stop?

Hey!
Why are we lined up at the back of the pack?
With the baby stroller?!
I'm faster than that!

Waiting for the late start...

Running strong and feeling good!
The nice kids at the water stations told me I was such a cute dog and gave me little cups of water.

I made it!
13.1 miles is a long run!

I didn't know how far my run was going to be this morning. I am not very good at pacing myself, so I got tired around mile 10. But I kept going and there were many smiling runners and people cheering for me!

At the finish, I could finally stop running!
2:10:29 - pretty good for a dog!

I even got my own medal for finishing my first half marathon!

Thanks Pacific Shoreline Marathon!

Relaxing in the sand with a medal around my neck. Looking forward to a nice nap this afternoon!
