TOWN OF NEW HAVEN, ADAMS COUNTY

REGULAR MONTHLY TOWN BOARD MEETING

MAY 15, 2008- 7:OO P.M.

 

 

    The regular monthly town board meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairperson Mike Julson, all board members were present with the exception of Supervisor II.  This meeting was in compliance with the open meeting law.  Motion by Lenny Watson/Mike Julson to accept the agenda as presented. M/C.  Minutes of the April 17, 2008 regular monthly town board meeting were read and accepted as presented with a motion by Watson/Julson.  M/C.  The financial report has the following balances as of April 30, 2008:  NOW account-

$21, 936.27, MM account-$51,362.17, Berry Ridge Parking fees-$2,457.56 and the Certificate of Deposit-

$14,529.91. A motion to accept this report by Watson/Julson.  M/C. 

 

Old Business:

    A revised memorandum of agreement regarding Big Spring Dam project had been prepared since the April town board meeting and sent to Mr. Knutson’s attorney by the town of New Haven attorney on May 5, 2008.  As of the time of this meeting Mr. Knutson had not been briefed by his attorney as to the contents of the revised agreement, therefore a motion was made by Watson/Julson to table any action on this document until all parties have considered it.  M/C.

 

New Business:

    Motion by Watson/Julson to schedule the township road/ditch inspections for Sunday, May 18, 2008, they  will be departing from the town hall at 1:00 p.m. M/C.  Bids and quotes for the mowing, brushing & cleaning ditches along town roads were submitted by Thome Enterprises, DLD Tree service, S. White & Sons, Adams County Hwy. Dept. and Scott Babcock.  A motion by Watson/Julson to award the bid for brushing and cleaning ditches to Scott Babcock for $75.00 per hour (includes man & machine), he will also be on call for any emergency situations pertaining to fallen trees etc. that are called in across town roads.  The Adams County Sheriff’s Department will dispatch calls to him in the event a town board member can not be reached. M/C.  The bid for mowing the town roads at $100.00 per hour

(man & machine) was given to S. White & Sons, with a motion by Watson/Julson.  M/C.

 

Motion to pay the bills by Watson/Julson.  M/C.  Motion by Watson/Julson to adjourn at 8:15 p.m. until June 19, 2008.  M/C.
