TOWN OF NEW HAVEN

REGULAR MONTHLY TOWN BOARD MEETING

APRIL 20, 2006

 

The regular monthly town board meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairperson Robert Krause.  All board members were present.  The meeting was in compliance with the open meeting law.  Minutes of the March 16, 2006 monthly town board meeting were read by the clerk and approved with a motion from Jim Beard/Myron Byers.  M/C.  The financial report was presented by the treasurer with the following balances as of March 31, 2006:  NOW checking account: $16,271.71, Money Market (savings) $169,066.82, Berry Ridge parking fees:  $1,786.43 and tax account closed out with $568.10 interest.  Motion to accept by Beard/Byers.  M/C.  The agenda was amended to allow Tim Houselet to present information on the services of Marquette County EMS.  Motion to approve the contract with Dells-Delton EMS for another year at $15.00 per capita, and to discuss these proposals again next year by Beard/Byers.  M/C.

 

Motion to hire Steve White & Sons to mow the township roads in June for $100.00 per hour, this includes two tractors and a double (10ft) cutting, the fall mowing will be decided at a later date, was made by Beard/Byers.  M/C.  Pauline Rageth submitted a bid of $30.00 a mowing to do the town hall, and would submit another bid, if the parking lot is increased in size this summer, this proposal was approved by Byers/Beard.  M/C.

 

The town clerk advised the town board that the road specifications should be compiled by May 1, as the advertisement for bids or quotes will be submitted for May 3rd and 10th that will be opened prior to the May 18, 2006 board meeting.

 

Motion by Byers to have Scott Babcock, the property owner and town board members meet on Wed. April 26, on Fur Lane and County Road G at 6:00 p.m. to discuss roadwork options, second to motion by Beard.  M/C.

 

An ordinance  # 2006-2 relating to Confidentiality of Income and Expenses provided to Assessor for Assessment purposes was adopted with a motion from Beard/Byers.  M/C.

 

Marion Licitar requested a rezone for 40 acres of 160 acres at 3774 County Road G from A-1 to A-3, so she could sell the remaining 120 acres and build a new house on the 40 she is keeping.  Motion to approve by Byers/Beard.  M/C.

 

A special exception for Wendy and Lee Kingsley at 476 Gillette Ave. was granted to allow a 1974 mobile to have electric hook-up.  The two existing mobiles on the property that are not being lived in are to be removed with in 90 days, with a motion from Beard/Byers.  M/C.

 

Tire recycling  is scheduled for May 27th and June 7th at the transfer-site, prices were set at $1.30 for tires, $2.30 on rims, $5.00 for truck and implement tires and $15.00 for large tractor tires.  Jim Beard will assist the attendant on May 27, and Pete Joslin on June 7.  Motion by Byers/Beard to have Auburndale recycling pick them up. M/C.

 

Pete Joslin quoted an approximate price of $275.00 to have a public posting board installed at a highly visible area somewhere in the township that is yet to be designated.  The Lions Club may be interested in assuming part of the expenses, if their events could be posted there also.

 

Motion by Byers/Beard to have the Adams County Highway Department make and install appropriate signs at the north side boat launch on Lake Mason.

 

Bills were approved for payment as presented with a motion from Byers/Beard. M/C.  Motion to adjourn at 9:15 p.m. until May 18, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. by Beard/Byers. M/C.
