ANNUAL TOWN MEETING

APRIL 14, 2009

 

 

 

    The Annual Town Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairperson Mike Julson.  Pledge of Allegiance was recited and this meeting was in compliance of the Open Meeting Law.  Minutes of the 2008 Annual Town Meeting were read by the Town Clerk and approved as read with a motion by Dennis Schmitz/Ken Crothers. M/C.  The 2008 financial report was presented to the electors and accepted as read with a motion by Ken Crothers/Robert Davis.  M/C.

 

Old Business:  The question as to if and when the Berry Ridge Mobile Home Park would be responsible for their own dumpster fees was raised.  Chairperson Julson stated that as of April 1, 2009 the owner of the park has chosen to continue the service for the residents at his own expense.  The Town’s responsibility ended on March 31, 2009. The owner and managers of the park were notified by letter of this decision by the Town Board in January 2009.  Residents also have the option to bring their waste to the site on County Road G.

 

New Business:  A motion was made by Joan Byers/Anna Davis to increase the annual salary of the Town Clerk by $1,000 taking the salary from $6,840 to $7,840, to be effective immediately.  M/C.  The Town Chairperson’s annual salary, beyond meeting per diems,  of $300 annually was increased to $500 annually with a motion that was made by Betty Licitar/Ken Crothers also to become effective immediately.  M/C.  Chief Inspectors and poll workers for elections, wages were increased by $1.50 an hour, making the Chief Inspector’s wage $10.00 p/hr and poll workers to $9.00 p/hr. with a motion by Myron Byers/ Ed Sigmund. M/C.

 

The next Annual Town Meeting will be held on April 13, 2010.

 

 

Motion by Joan Byers/ Robert Davis to adjourn at 7:40 p.m.
