ANNUAL TOWN MEETING

TOWN OF NEW HAVEN, ADAMS COUNTY, WISCONSIN

APRIL 10, 2007

    The annual town meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by chairperson Robert Krause.  The meeting was in compliance with the open meeting law, and the pledge of allegiance was recited.  Minutes of the 2006 annual town meeting were read by the town clerk and approved with a motion by Ken Crothers/Myron Byers.  M/C.  The 2006 financial report prepared by the clerk was read and approved as presented with a motion by Myron Byers/Robert Davis.  M/C.

    A motion was made by Dennis Schmitz/Bill Thomm to purchase four (4) new folding eight-foot tables for the town hall. M/C.  It was put before the electors in attendance if the pews should be brought back up stairs after the remodeling, by a show of hands fifteen (15) approved one (1) disapproved.  Chief inspectors for elections will receive a one (1) dollar an hour increase in wage, from $7.50 to $8.50 per hour with a motion approving the increase made by JimBeard/Ken Crothers. M/C.  Discussion followed on possibly changing the monthly town board meeting dates to sometime earlier in the month, it was decided that it should be decided by the town board at a regular monthly meeting.

    Again the township will be sponsoring a tire recycling date with a motion by Ken Crothers/Myron Byers.  M/C.  Glenn Licitar will contact Auburndale Recycling to arrange a date possibly in May.  The annual roadside clean-up was scheduled for Sunday, April 29, 2007, with participants meeting at the town hall at 9:00 a.m.  Workers will be rewarded with a lunch.  Motion by Ken Crothers/Myron Byers to continue to add $5,000 annually to the CD originally started for land acquisition, this money is to be used by the town board at their discretion for purposes pertaining to the town hall or parking lot improvements.  M/C.

    The rate for miles driven pertaining to business was increased to 48.5 cents per mile with a motion by Dennis Schmitz/Anna Davis.  M/C.  Motion by Myron Byers/Robert Davis to increase the clerk’s salary of $6,226.00 by 10% effective immediately.  M/C.

    Motion to adjourn at 8:00 p.m.  until April 8, 2008 by Jim Beard/Carla Jermier.  M/C.
