Explanation of Events:

• Arrival: The teacher will be at the door ready to greet children as they arrive.  This helps to ease the transition from home to school.
  
  
• Open Exploration: Children choose from a variety of activities in the classroom.  Art, science, manipulatives, reading, dramatic play and block areas are always available.  Parents are available to read, replenish supplies and keep company with children.  Snack occurs during this time.
  
  
• Circle Time: Children are invited to sing, hear stories and share in this circle.
  
  
• Clean Up: Everyone encourages children to find helpful ways to get our classroom clean for the next day of fun.
  
  
• Recess: Gross motor skills and activities are set up in different rooms of the Community Center.  We also have our Good-Bye Circle during this time.
  
  
• Dismissal: Children are brought back from recess to the hallway and their waiting parent/guardian.  Art, sweaters, backpacks and information from parent boxes is collected.
  
  
• Parent Teacher Clean Up: While the teacher dismisses students, Parent Teachers finish clean up.
  
  
• Parent/Teacher Meeting: Parent Teachers and the teacher discuss the day’s events.  This is an excellent chance for parents to bring any problems or concerns about the class day to the teacher.
