According to the Gardner, Massachusetts City Directories, 1888-1889, Thomas was removed to Chicago
On his son Lawrence's birth certificate, it says Thomas was from County Tipperary in Ireland.

Obiltuary from Great Falls Tribune July 10, 1949, Page 8 with a picture of James Bondy
"James H. Bondy Dies; Former State Official. James H. Bondy, 86, former state and city official died at his home at 1225 4th Ave. north Saturday afternoon. He had been ill since February when he suffered a heart attack.
Bondy, a Montana resident since 1887, was born in Michigan, June 1, 1861. He worked in the Northern Pacific boiler shops in Helena before coming to Great Falls in 1893. For 22 years he worked in the boiler shops at the smelter and in 1914 he became general foreman of the Great Falls Iron Works.
May 15, 1921, he became state boiler inspector, a position he held under Govs. Dixon, Erickson and Cooney. He retired from the office August 24, 1935 and was succeeded by L.A. Diamond.
Bondy served several years as city weighmaster, receiving his last appointment to this position from Mayor E.L.Shields in May 1941.
His wife, the former Eula Reifenrath, died in 1930. He is survived by two sons, Frank, Great Falls, and William J., Oakland, California; and daughters, Mrs. J.B.Walsh, Minneapolis; Mrs. John Dexter, Maryland, and Mrs. E.C. Steele, Great Falls; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
