Keturah was from Beth Page, New York. (St. George Episcopal Church, Hempstead, New York)
In trying to trace Keturah's Smith family, I found this in a book on colonial Hempstead on Heritage Quest. " Of Smiths there were such a variety that, "for destingshun sacke" some othr designation was , so that in Hempstead alone there were Blue Smiths, Rock Smiths, Rouse Smiths, Shoe Smiths, and Little Smiths thus being distinguished from each other and from the other famous Long Island families, the Bull Smiths and the Tangier Smiths. The Rock Smith family lived for several generations on a farm at Merrick, now traversed for its entire length by the Meadowbrook Causeway.
