Personal geodatabase, digitized Sanborn Map buildings, year 1920
The data set represented by this metadata consists of geospatial and
attribute information for buildings (commercial, public and residences)
located in Charlottesville, Virginia that were originally mapped by the
Sanborn Map Company in the year 1920 (the data set is specific for the
year 1920). Each building represented in the personal geodatabase has
attribute information that indicates building use, height and address
information. Each building was digitzed using a scanned image that was
georeferenced using a digital orthophoto.
The dataset was created for the purpose of (1) providing spatial and attribute
data necessary for studying land use distribution and change; (2) provide
specific street address information, and (3) provide building height information
for use in 3-D visualization.
The data contained herein is complete and there will be no future updates
