Saturday morning September 19, Heyworth participated in a disaster drill. It started with a tornado hitting the
Jr/Sr High School and overturning a tanker truck carring a hazardous material.
Emergency workers from McLean County participated in this drill along with helicopters from Peoria and Springfield Hospitals
particpated in this drill. High School students and Boy Scouts were victims of the tornado. Teachers, school leaders
and Village Officials participated in this drill
This was an opportunity for everyone to look at their disaster plans and determine what plans need to be looked
at.
