What We Do
50th Anniversary

                                                      Fire Suppression
Fire Fighting is considered by the public to be the primary reason the fire department exists.  However, firefighting actually consumes much less time than other services provided.  Our fire prevention education and inspection programs have resulted in actual fires declining.  We are very proud of this fact, however with intense training the Department will continue to grow with our community.

                                                      Life Safety Code
The Fire Department inacted the NFPA Life Safety Code in 1989.  This allows us to help prevent fires and accidents by helping businesses stay current with the most recent fire code requirements.

                                                      Public Education
The Fire Department provides various programs for fire safety education including" fire extinguisher training, ways to control hazards, proper methods of evacuation and overall fire safety practices.  We provide classes at our schools during Fire Prevention Week.  The department can also provide, on request, a fire prevention or safety presentation to meet any needs for a group or organization.  The department also provides tours, fire engine demonstrations, and courtesy home inspections.  We urge you to contact the department to schedule these presentations.

                                                      Rescue
The Fire Department responds to motor vehicle accidents with reported or known injuries as well as farm, construction, and industrial accidents.  All personnel are trained in vehicle and farm extrication and the department is equipped with various state of the art types of extrication equipment.

                                                    Pre-Fire Planning
The Department has been doing pre-fire planning throughout the community these past years.  This allows the department to pre-plan your structure and have a set of action plans should the business have a fire.  We would like to pre-plan all businesses in our community in the near future.  This service could minimize your  losses.
