What's New?
News flash...
New Feature! Until you can actually get to the shop for a visit, you're welcome to come in for a quick virtual tour right here!
The plan is to add a couple more slide shows soon. One will be a more in-depth tour through the shop, and the other will provide an opportunity for full depth immersion for those of you who might want to spend a little more time examining our offerings.
Our upcoming knitting retreat at Camp DuNord (Jan. 14-16, 2011) has filled and there is at least one person on the waiting list.
Information about our Spring knitting retreat at Ghost Ranch in New Mexico (April 10-16, 2011) has now been posted here on our web site and also sent out to everyone on our Yahoo email group. If you'd like to join us for a wonderful week of knitting and exploring some of the high desert country around Santa Fe and Taos and visit yarn shops and other interesting offerings in the area, we'd love to have you.
Our winter of 2010-11 has settled in around us with several inches of snow on the ground as the result of one snow storm, one heavy snowfall and a few smaller additions to our winter wonderland's white blanket. We've had quite a few windy days which always make it seem colder than the thermometer says it is. The southern half of Minnesota and areas eastward just experienced an "epic" snowstorm that buried the Twin Cities area under as much as 20" of snow while very strong winds of 40-50+ mph created blizzard conditions. We in the northland escaped the snow, but we're now in the depths of a winter deep freeze, with temps dropping into the -20s and -30s for a few nights. Brrrrrrrrr! It's definitely the season for warm woolly knitted hats, mittens, scarves and sweaters!
We have an up-to-date and complete listing of the yarns we carry in the shop, so you might want to check out our yarn page. The weights and fibers are listed, but not the costs or colors. You'll need to come to the shop to look at and feel them if you're not already familiar with them.Several new links have been added to our list of Ely area web sites and Minnesota web sites that you might find interesting and helpful - visit our links page.
Thanks for coming to visit us here on the web. If you would like to find your way to our shop in Ely, Minnesota, please check out our contact page which has driving directions along with our address and phone number. While you're there, you can also sign up to be on our snail mail and, more importantly, our SisuDesigns email group.
