John Semon Nichols Born 20 August 1916 in Vina, Franklin County, Alabama and Died 2 May 1937 in Montgomery, Montgomery County, Alabama.
He was the son of John Henry Nichols and Charity Eugene Green. He married Lula Deverlin Emerson 3 February 1934 in Marion County, Alabama. They had 2 sons and a daughter; James Delmer, John Elmer, and Letha Elva. Semon was a great banjo player. My husband James Delmer was almost 3 years old when he father died. This picture is only one of two known pictures of Semon. A cousin in Hamilton, Alabama found it among her mother's belongings and we are very happy to have a copy. James Delmer has always longed to find his father's banjo, not knowing who in the area had it.
