A light-hearted exploration for individuals, pairs, or groups of adults. Helps them see where their patterns of choices have come from and shows them how they might change their choice patterns and improve their lives. 

CHOICE AWARENESS: A systematic, eclectic counseling theory. Nelson, R. C. (1990)

For use by counselors, psychologists, social workers, etc.  A summary of Choice Awareness theory, with practical suggestions for helping clients understand the choices they have been making and for equipping them to make more effective choices.

Four Books for Children

The following are four books originally published by Aegina Press, now available exclusively through Educational Media Corporation. Each of the books is a novel; for each chapter there is a Choice Awareness supplement that helps young people understand two key concepts.   Every opportunity one has for choosing can be used in many ways.  If you STOP, THINK, and then CHOOSE, the outcomes will often be more positive.  The supplements present many activities that encourage better choice-making.

Two Books for Elementary Schoolers

Twins, Tammy and Tommy, have a wondrous series of adventures in fantastic place called The Land of Choice, in which they must make effective choices to meet each of many challenges.

A gift Tommy's aunt and uncle gave him - a ring that may have magical powers - disappears from his locker. The twins apply what they learned about choice-making - In the Land of Choice - to try to get it back. 

Two Books for Middle Schoolers

Two eighth grade members of a peer-helping group, nicknamed Beyond the Call, happen on a tearful Jennifer Long, a girl who has a vivid imagination. Kenneth Sugihara and Candace Walton don't know what to think when Jennifer reports that she has seen her older cousin rehearsing what may be a deadly crime. 

TRAVIS AND TRISH. Nelson, R. C. (1995)

Travis and Trish, a brother-sister pair, encounter friendship problems. Trish turns to alcohol for solace, and that causes much trouble for her, while Travis attempts to find new friends. Two Beyond the Call group members, Marvis Warden and Ramon Martinez try to help them through their difficulties.
