The race at Maryhill was incredible, on qualifying day on Saturday the winds were uphill but not real strong and everyone was worried that the wind would pick up and be stronger uphill, so I decided to jump in early and take my run, and it ended up like all the early qualifyer with a slow qualifying time, because a little later in the day the wind did kick up, but it was a downhill wind, so basicly I ended up in the B group, out of 3 groups.
When racing started I had Bricin, Joe Lehm, Deano and myself, I was worried I would not get past the first round. I had my usual slow kick start and from the back of the pack I first picked off Bricin, then a couple of turn later I picked off Joe, and knew if I stayed up I would come 2nd, good enough to move on. So Deano and I kept moving on together the rest of the day till the finals, where I wanted a first. The finals included Deano, Olin Applegate, Sean the green hornet and myself.  I moved around Sean early then the next one was Deano and I was gaining with enough speed to pass when he fell and broke his wrist, and I started moving in on Olin when he looked like he was going to crash right in front of me so I layed down a colman slide and looked back to see Sean doing the same. And when I turned to go Olin had already gone and I could not catch him before the finish. So I came second Sean third and Deano Fourth. The A group Finals were a hoot, Chaput had shown up with something that resembled a street luge, just to try to make everyone look stupid, because the rules where not specific enough for him, and no one could come close to him all day, till the finals, which included Dennis, Tom Estrand, and John Rogers. The crowd roared when at one point Dennis the seattle mennis, had passed Chaput, then Chaput passed him back and went on to finish first. Dennis got tangled up with Tom, so John came second, Tom ended third and Dennis Fourth.

The Maryhill ratz that made it to the finals,  Tad, Dennis, Deano, and Sean.
